3 Tips to Better Hosting

The key to being a better host? According to stylist, Lauren Kelp, it’s to relax! She lends her expertise on stress-free entertaining with images from her latest spring brunch.

  1. Stick with at least one recipe you know is a sure thing. I am guilty of always trying out new recipes on friends at a dinner party, but I like to make sure I have at least one recipe in the mix that I know is a party favorite and that I can make in my sleep.
  2. Set the mood. Create the ambiance of a party you would want to go to! Before I start setting the stage for one of my parties, I always like to think, “Okay, what type of vibe are we going for?” Relaxed? Upbeat? Then I go from there. Finding the right music always helps.
  3. The best way to keep the stress of hosting a party low, is to be as prepared as possible. Go shopping a day or two in advance or set the table the night before. No one likes to be a stressed out hostess, so take it easy on yourself and have a good time. If the party isn’t perfect, who cares?! Everyone loves an excuse to get together and celebrate with friends!
