4 Homemade Father’s Day Gifts

Show the dad in your life a little homemade love this Father’s Day. Skip the cologne and golf balls and try one of these extra thoughtful gift ideas.

Breakfast in bed: Start his day off right from the start. Fill a tray with his breakfast favorites and include a card like this one to thank him for all he does. Need help with a recipe? Whip up an egg in a heart-shaped hole or this brown sugar grapefruit paired with fresh-squeezed juice.

Beer Making Kit: Is he a craft beer enthusiast? Give him a home brew kit by Brooklyn Brew Shop. We chose their Everyday IPA, but they have a variety of different brews depending on how he likes his hops!

Beard Oil: If you don’t have time to make your bearded papa’s gift yourself, pick up a bottle of homemade organic beard oil from the newly launched Beard EssentialsGrooming at its finest (and hippest)! The classic woodsy scent has a citrus top note that is just manly enough without the overkill.

Grilling Wet Rub: If he continually plays grill master, make him a homemade wet rub to add flavor and spice to whatever he cooks up. This recipe marries salty and sweet and looks good gifted in a mason jar and plaid fabric.

  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon cayenne pepper
  • 1 garlic clove, finely diced
  • 1/2 tablespoon onion powder
  • 1 tablespoon paprika
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1/4 cup dark beer
  • 1 tablespoon lime juice
  • salt and pepper to taste

  1. Mix dry ingredients together.
