Hosting Easter

Can’t afford to buy loads of flowers or new dinnerware this Easter? Take some tips from interior designer, Michelle Banales, on a budget-friendly table that’s gorgeous and modern all without breaking the bank.

  • Flowers: Add pops of color and softness to the table but keep it simple. Fill in as much as you can with budget grocery bunches and flowers from your garden or any wild flowers that you are allowed to collect.
  • Place settings: Search thrift shops, yard sales, and dollar stores, for plain white plates, basic wine glasses and clear vases.
  • Favors: Ceramic figurines can also be thrifted and even spray painted for the same design, on a dime, if their appearance is not exactly modern and monochromatic (the bunnies pictured are from Target). Also, try Target’s dollar section for things like metal baskets to put wine or silverware in.
  • Company: Holidays should be about community more than anything else. Focus on having fantastic conversation and good food with family and friends. No one will care how much or little was spent.
